Over 100 guests from the local and international A&D community attended to hear legendary designer Michael Anastassiades and Pin-Up creator Felix Burrichter reflect on the idea of timeless design, as embodied by Michael's dreamlike IC Lights collection for Flos, now celebrating its 10th anniversary with a Special Edition.
Following the intimate and inspirational talk, guests were treated to a friendly picnic brunch in the charming courtyard.
"The first part of my career was very experimental, more about questioning in our lives and what it was meant to do. Exploring deeper psychological relationships we have with object, this was what I was really attracted to. Then at some point I noticed something was missing and started to question my role as a designer, I didn't want to be classified as an artist. Then in 2007 I tried to reinvent myself on my own as an experiment, and it was a good experiment which I'm very grateful for because that's when I met Flos and together we embarked on this very interesting and quite prolific ten year journey."

"You can never run away from anything you do in life. Growing up in a country you are exposed to a certain culture, as a creative person you are constantly a sponge. That exists with everybody, but somehow with us creatives we express it, as other people don't have that opportunity. At the end we are all the same and come from the same world."

"When I started working in lighting I thought brass was a beautiful material, specially how it reflects light, somehow enhancing the glow. Then I started fabricating my first pieces all in brass, I was told the material was old fashioned and quite unpopular but I thought it was an interesting moment to reintroduce brass into the vocabulary of lighting."
